With the growing treat to our planet and natural resources, we belive that it is time not only to change our carbon footprints as individuals but also as a society. Companies need to become more enviromentally aware and apply conservation practices to help preserve our planet and our way of life. In order to reduce our carbon footprint we have taken three initial steps:
Green Hosting
Our website and hosting services are powered by solar and wind energy.
Virtual Office
Our virtual office uses today's latest technology to reduce our carbon footprint. Each member of our team works from home; therefore, reducing the need to use fosil fuels to commute back and forth to an office everyday. We have all optimized our computer systems with energy saving motherboards and monitors and use rechargable batteries for all of our wireless equipment.
In addition, we use a paperless archiving and invoicing system, we communitcate through emails, video conferencing, screen sharing, and VOIP phone systems to increase productivity and decrease the need to use paper; however, as designers sometimes you just can't beat an old fashion pen and paper to sketch out ideas, so for this occasions we use 80% recycled paper and have each installed a compost and recycling system in our home offices.
Ethically Correct
We belive in helping the world be a better place for everyone. That is why we have joined KIVA a non-profit organization who focuses on empowering those in less fortunate countries to build or start their own business. Starting January of 2010, AVANT Marketing Graphics will donate at least $25.00 each month to someone else in need through KIVA, if and when the borrower pays back the funds we will simply lend the money to someone else in need.
